Ordinary day in the Academy of Abilities

Today felt like one of those ordinary days in the Academy of Abilities. Classes were routine, nothing too special. Professor Gale’s lecture on “Elemental Convergence” (or, as it’s called in the non-magical world, Physics) was as dense as ever. I mean, I get it — controlling fire, water, and air is tricky, but do we really need to spend three whole hours on the theory of energy transfer? I could practically see everyone’s powers fading with boredom.

During lunch, I sat with the usual crew at the “Mystic Grounds” (aka the cafeteria). Max was showing off his telekinesis again, levitating forks and plates like it was nothing. Of course, it’s just Max using his stupid spoon trick, but in my head, it’s way more exciting. Sarah, who’s got the ability to manipulate shadows (or in reality, just a knack for sitting in dark corners with her headphones), was completely zoned out. I swear, she’s always got this aura of mystery around her, like she’s hiding some ancient, forbidden power.

After lunch, we had a practical session in the “Chamber of Trials” (or, you know, the gym). We had to test our agility and strength, jumping through hoops of fire and dodging lightning bolts — at least, that’s how I imagined it. In reality, it was just dodgeball. But somehow, with Coach Armstrong shouting instructions, it felt like we were training for some kind of epic battle. I wish. Instead, I ended up being knocked out by one of the rubber balls within the first five minutes.

Walking back to my dorm later, I couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, my powers haven’t manifested yet. Everyone else here at the Academy seems to have already unlocked theirs, whether it’s invisibility (more like skipping class without getting caught) or super strength (lifting way too many textbooks at once). But me? Still waiting.

Maybe one day, I’ll discover I’ve got the power to control time or summon lightning storms. Or maybe… I’ll just have to accept that I’m just a regular student at a regular university, and all this is just my imagination running wild again.

But hey, a little magic never hurt anyone, right?
